Our third visual exercise for the ‘Workflow and Creative Camera Techniques’ module was based around using our camera skills to create a portrait of an individual in a location that is important to them. We were to pay particular attention to lighting in this exercise.
I chose to study my flatmate Mike Shaw, showing his contributions to the basement rennovations at the Edinburgh Student Housing Co-op where we live. I chose a challenging location in terms of lighting and had to use a high ISO. However I feel the grain adds to the documentary style of the film.
